Tesco Clubcard holders have until midnight tonight to spend their vouchers or lose them
Tesco Clubcard holders have until midnight on 31 May before they will become worthless.
Tesco, the UK’s largest supermarket, has revealed that £15 million worth of Clubcard vouchers, issued in May 2021, have yet to be spent.
Tesco shoppers on the loyalty scheme accrue Clubcard points during every shop either at the supermarket’s stores or online. Points can also be collected via Tesco Bank and Tesco mobile.
One point is accumulated for every £1 spent on groceries. One point is also gained for every £2 spent on fuel, however from 14 June this will be lowered to one point for every two litres.
You need a minimum of 150 points to get a Clubcard voucher, which is worth £1.50 to spend in Tesco.
It is possible to triple the value of Clubcard points up until 14 June if customers do not want to spend vouchers at Tesco stores. The grocer will then change its rules to double the rate when customers spend with a ‘Rewards Partner,’ such as Thorpe Park, Pizza Express and the RAC.
It is possible to extend the expiry date of the points by turning them into Faster Vouchers.
The change will help them last 21 months beyond the usual two-year expiry date after the point at which they’re converted.
