Why you don’t need to pay over the odds for Father’s Day presents
Father’s Day is fast approaching - and many of us will be feeling the pressure to get our dads the perfect gift? But is it really necessary?

According to a poll by TopCashback, more than one in three dads (36%) don’t expect their children to spend any money on them this Father’s Day.
Instead, it’s the thought that counts.
Almost one in ten (9%) say they’d rather their child made something or spent time with them instead of buying a present.
And nearly eight in ten (78%) said feeling appreciated matters more to them than a gift.
Women feel pressure to buy gifts for dad more than men
Interestingly, daughters feel more pressure to get the perfect Father’s Day present than sons.
More than one in five women (41%) admitted they find it hard to buy gifts for their dad.
By contrast, less than one in four men (23%) said they struggle to pick a present.
And even though dads say they’re happy just to spend quality time with their kids, both men and women feel they’re tricky to buy for.
In fact, nearly one in three adults with both parents (32%) said they find it harder to buy a present for their dad than their mum.
“While luxury hampers and store-bought gifts can go down a treat, thoughtful gestures, quality time and small meaningful moments can matter just as much, if not more, than how much money is spent,” said Abigail Yearley of TopCashback.
How can you keep costs down this Father’s Day?
The average Brit is set to spend £54.38 on Father’s Day gifts and cards this year, according to MyVoucherCodes.
