Cheap kids’ cinema tickets for the summer holidays
The six-week summer break can feel like a long stretch when you're trying to keep the kids entertained without spending a fortune. Luckily, lots of UK cinemas run special low-cost screenings for families, with tickets from as little as £1 per person. Whether you’re dodging the rain or just fancy a break from the park, here’s how to enjoy a fun (and affordable) morning at the movies.

5. Showcase Cinemas – discounted tickets + Insider offers
Showcase Cinemas offer discounted family films through their Movies for Juniors programme. Tickets are usually around £2.50–£3. You can also sign up for their free Insider scheme, which gives extra discounts on general tickets and snacks.
6. Reel Cinemas – Saturday Morning Club

7. Picturehouse – Kids' Club from £3.30
Picturehouse offers Kids’ Club screenings at weekends and during holidays. Tickets start from £3.30 per person and sometimes include activity packs or colouring sheets to keep little ones happy before the film starts.
The cinema deals don’t stop at cheap tickets. Here are a few extra tricks to cut the cost even more:
Use loyalty points and clubcards
- Tesco Clubcard: Swap points for Cineworld or Picturehouse tickets.
- Sky VIP: Get 2 free Vue tickets a month (Sun–Thurs) if you have Sky Cinema.
- Vodafone/Voxi: Get 2 Odeon tickets for £8 with VeryMe Rewards.
- Amazon Prime: Enjoy 2 Odeon tickets for £10 (Mon–Thurs) with the “Prime Premiere” offer.
Try Kids Pass
Sign up for a trial of Kids Pass for £1 and get up to 56% off cinema tickets at major chains, plus discounts on zoos, soft play, and restaurants. Great value if you're planning several trips over the summer.
Get 2-for-1 Meerkat Movies
Buy a cheap one-day travel insurance policy through Compare the Market and get access to Meerkat Movies – 2-for-1 cinema tickets every Tuesday and Wednesday.
Bring your own snacks (if allowed)
Cinema snacks can cost more than the tickets. Most chains allow you to bring in your own cold drinks and sweets. Just check the rules for your chosen cinema.
