Several well-known high street chains and supermarkets are currently offering free drinks, and if you’re a regular coffee drinker, these offers could quickly add up.

We’ve rounded up some of the best free tea and coffee deals available right now, so you can see what you’re entitled to and how you can claim each one.

McDonald’s

McDonald’s is giving customers the chance to get their hands on a free coffee every week for a limited time.

From Tuesday, 8 September until Wednesday, 30 September, you can claim one free coffee each week through the McDonald’s app.

According to McDonald’s, you could save up to £8.76 by taking advantage of the offer.

So, if you’re already heading to McDonald’s, it’s worth checking your app before you pay to see whether your free drink is waiting for you.

Greggs

If you’re a Greggs fan, you could bag yourself a completely free hot or iced drink simply by downloading the Greggs app and signing up.

Once you’ve joined, your free drink will be added straight to your Greggs wallet, ready for you to redeem.

That gives you the chance to pick up a coffee, tea or another eligible hot or iced drink without having to spend extra money on it.

Gail’s Bakery

If you fancy something from Gail’s, new members can get a welcome gift when they download the Gail’s app.

You can choose between a free barista-made drink or a free loaf of bread with any purchase.

Just make sure you check the terms of the welcome offer in the app before you visit, so you know exactly what you’re entitled to.

Waitrose

Waitrose has an offer that could be particularly useful if you’re a regular shopper, and it rewards you for bringing your reusable cup.

If you’re a myWaitrose member, you can get a free regular-sized tea or coffee every day from the self-serve machines.

If you visit regularly, those free drinks could really add up over time.

Wenzel’s

You could also get a freebie from Wenzel’s simply by signing up to its app.

New customers who register through the Wenzel’s app can receive a welcome reward for a free coffee or a doughnut, and you don't need to make a purchase to claim it.

Wetherspoon

And finally, don’t forget about Wetherspoon if you’re looking for a cheap way to keep your cup topped up.

At participating Wetherspoon pubs, you can get unlimited free refills on hot drinks, including tea and coffee.

There’s no code or voucher to worry about.

You simply need to buy one hot drink to start with. In most pubs, these currently cost around £1.81, although prices can vary depending on the location.

Once you’ve bought your drink at the bar, you can head to the self-service drinks area and refill your cup as many times as you like.

With the cost of eating and drinking out continuing to add up, a few free coffees here and there could make a surprisingly useful difference to your weekly spending.
