From fashion and food to broadband, tech and fitness, there are plenty of ways for you to cut the cost of everyday essentials.

This week, we’ve rounded up some of the best student discounts and deals you can make the most of.

So, before you pay full price, check whether you could be getting your student discount instead. You could be surprised by how quickly those small savings add up.

UNiDAYS - free student discounts from hundreds of brands

If you want an easy place to start, UNiDAYS is a must-have. The free app gives you access to literally hundreds of student discounts across hundreds of fashion, lifestyle, beauty, food and tech brands, making it easy for you to save whenever you shop.

You can find discounts from big-name brands including ASOS, Nike and Urban Outfitters, with plenty of offers changing throughout the year.

If you’re studying at university, college or sixth form, you can sign up for free and start browsing the available deals.

Student Beans - discounts for food, tech and more

Student Beans is another brilliant option if you’re looking to make your money go further. It brings together student discounts from a wide range of popular brands, with offers covering everything from food delivery and restaurants to technology, fashion and entertainment.

For example, you can find offers such as 40% off at Bella Italia from Sunday to Thursday, while there have also been student offers including £10 off your first Uber ride.

The best thing about Student Beans is that you can keep checking back as new deals are added and existing offers change. So, if you’re about to order food, buy something online or make a bigger purchase, take a quick look before you checkout.

TOTUM - more than just a student card

If you want your student status to work a little harder for you, TOTUM is definitely worth considering. The official NUS-affiliated student discount card and app gives you access to a wide range of offers, while also providing useful extras such as age identification.

There are discounts across categories including technology, fashion, food delivery, travel and more. TOTUM says its members save an average of £550+ a year.

Virgin Media - student broadband deals

If you’re moving into student accommodation, getting your broadband sorted is probably one of the first things on your to-do list.

Virgin Media offers student broadband packages for people with an ac.uk email address, giving you the option to choose a package that suits your household and budget.

That could be particularly useful if you’re living in a larger student house where several people will be streaming, gaming, studying and browsing at the same time. Instead of struggling with unreliable Wi-Fi, you can look at student-specific packages designed around the needs of student households.

Strava - get your fitness fix for less

If you want to keep active without adding another expensive monthly commitment to your student budget, Strava has a student offer that could help.

You can get 30 days of the premium plan for free, giving you the chance to try out Strava’s extra features before deciding whether you want to continue. After the trial, eligible students can get 50% off the subscription, bringing the annual price down to £27.49.

Being a student doesn’t mean you have to miss out, it just means you need to be a little smarter about what you spend.

A discount of 10% might not sound huge on its own, but when you’re making multiple purchases throughout the year, those savings can quickly add up.
