Kids Week is back this August. And that means you can snap up free theatre tickets for your little ones when you buy a full-price adult ticket. Even better? You can get up to two extra kids' tickets at half price with each booking too.

It’s a brilliant way to enjoy a day out in London, see a West End show, and give the kids a memory they’ll never forget. All while saving a small fortune.

What is Kids Week?

Despite the name, Kids Week runs for the whole of August. It’s an annual offer that gives families the chance to enjoy top theatre performances in London for a fraction of the usual price.

You get one free child ticket (for ages 17 and under) with every full-price adult ticket, plus the option to buy two extra children’s tickets at half price.

When do tickets go on sale?

Tickets go on sale at 10am tomorrow (Tuesday 11 June 2024) and they’re usually snapped up fast. Some of the most popular shows can sell out on the first day, so set a reminder and get ready to book.

You’ll be able to see what’s on and book tickets through the Official London Theatre website.

What shows are included?

There’s something for everyone - from big-name musicals like The Lion King, Wicked, and Frozen to kid-friendly comedies, magic shows, and classic stage plays. You can check the full list of participating shows on the Kids Week website.

Even better, many of the shows also include free activities like post-show Q&As or kids’ stage workshops.

How to make it an affordable day out

London days out can quickly add up, but there are plenty of ways to cut costs:

  • Bring your own snacks – Most theatres allow small snacks and water bottles (check first), which can save you spending a fortune at the kiosk.
  • Use railcards – If you’re travelling by train, a Family & Friends Railcard can save you 1/3 on adult fares and 60% on kids’ tickets.
  • Free museums and parks – Make a day of it! Visit the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, or take a picnic to Hyde Park.

Our extra tips

  • Be flexible with dates and showtimes - matinees often have better availability.
  • Check age recommendations before you book.

If you miss out, keep checking back - extra tickets sometimes get released later
