Loyalty card Christmas ‘bonuses’: what you need to know
Some of the UK’s biggest supermarkets are updating their loyalty schemes this December, and you could benefit from better deals, extra points and festive freebies.

Here’s what you need to know about the changes at Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, Morrisons and Lidl.
Tesco
Tesco has refreshed its Clubcard scheme, giving you the chance to earn extra points when you buy gift cards.
With the new ‘win-win’ offer, you get double Clubcard points, that’s two points for every £1 spent on gift cards.
Those extra points can be even more valuable when you redeem them with Clubcard Reward Partners, where you can get up to 4% back on your spending.
Lidl
If you’re a Lidl Plus customer, you can unlock a daily festive reward just by opening the Lidl Plus app each day.
Simply save and activate your daily coupon before your next shop and you can enjoy everything from free products to £5 vouchers. These daily treats run until 24 December.
Throughout December, you can also enter prize draws for the chance to win big rewards, including a whole year’s worth of shopping.
On prize draw days, just open your app, activate the prize draw coupon, and make a shop within the time window to secure your entry.
Sainsbury’s
Sainsbury’s loyalty card Nectar has been rolled out on the takeaway delivery app Deliveroo. This means you can collect points when you shop with the supermarket on the platform.
Asda
If you’re an Asda Rewards member, keep an eye on your Christmas Saver Cashpot. Asda is giving accounts a surprise £5 festive bonus, so you may find an extra treat waiting for you.
Morrisons
If you have a Morrisons More Card and took part in the Christmas Merry More points scheme, now’s time to make the most of it.
As long as you spent £50 each week for four out of five weeks leading up to Christmas, and clicked the ‘Let it Snow’ activation button in the app before 23 November, you will earn 20,000 More Points, worth £20.
The Merry More Points promotion runs from 10 November 2025 to 14 December 2025.
