The deal knocks around. £1.40 off the usual price of a Happy Meal, although the standard price varies between restaurants
How to get the £2.99 deal
To claim the discount, you'll need to order through the McDonald's app. Simply head to the Offers section, redeem the £2.99 Happy Meal deal and use it when ordering in restaurant, at a kiosk, via Drive-Thru or through Click & Serve.
The offer isn't available on McDelivery, so you'll need to collect your order yourself.
What's included?
The discounted meal includes all the usual Happy Meal favourites, with a choice of a burger, Chicken McNuggets or a fish option, plus a side, drink and either a toy or a book.
This summer, children can also collect one of 12 Crocs-inspired mini keyrings, making the offer even more appealing for young fans.
How long is the offer available?
The £2.99 Happy Meal offer is available throughout the summer holidays until 1 September. Customers can redeem the deal once a day, with up to four discounted Happy Meals in a single order.
Don't forget the summer VAT savings
The Happy Meal deal is just one of the ways families can save money this summer.
Until 1 September, the government has temporarily reduced VAT on children's meals from 20% to 5% as part of its Great British Summer Savings scheme. While businesses don't have to pass on the full saving, many restaurants and attractions have chosen to do so, helping families cut the cost of eating out and enjoying days out over the school holidays.
Participating businesses include Wetherspoons, Greene King, Nando's, Bill's and Las Iguanas, while many family attractions, cinemas and theme parks are also offering reduced prices through the scheme. It's worth checking before you book or order to see what discounts are available near you.
