But many eager shoppers aren’t just waiting to see a tempting advert on the telly or billboard in a shop window.

A huge number of us are turning to AI to find the best seasonal offers.

In fact, figures from Barclay show that nearly one in ten Brits (8%) will use tools like ChatGPT and Gemini to source and compare deals.

Gen Z are particularly keen to get help from AI, with 17% using it to help them bag Black Friday bargains.

Shoppers trust AI recommendations

It seems that many of us happy not just to use AI, but also go with what it suggests.

Barclays found that 13% of people believe AI tools are better at finding deals than traditional search engines.

Meanwhile, a separate study by PSE Consulting found that shoppers aren’t just using AI to compare prices.

More than eight in ten (85%) trust it enough to place orders and handle payments on their behalf.

Not everyone is convinced

Although it’s clear that millions of us are happy to embrace AI, many others are still to be persuaded.

According to PSE Consulting, older shoppers and people on low incomes are particularly wary when it comes to AI.

Figure also showed that almost half of adults (46%) worry about fraud, and more than four in ten (41%) fear AI could pick the wrong gifts.

Meanwhile, many are worried about the possibility of their data being misused.

Don't spend more than you can afford

With so many discounts around, it’s easy to end up blowing your budget and regretting it later.

So we’ve put together some tips on how to make the most of Black Friday this year.

With just a little planning and thought, you can shop smart and enjoy all the great deals guilt-free.
