Bag a bargain with ‘children go free’ at London theatres this August

Children can go for free to a whole host of family friendly theatre shows this August with the annual Kids Week promotion.

Any under-17’s accompanied by a paying adult gets a free ticket and two additional children can attend for half price. There are also no booking fee or postage fee to pay.

From West End classics such as the Wizard of Oz, Lion King, and Grease to newer releases like Frozen, Mrs Doubtfire or Horrible Histories Live, as well as toddler friendly shows like Fireman Sam Saves the Circus and The Tiger Who Came to Tea, there’s something for everyone.

The Kids Week tickets are the perfect way to introduce your whole family to the theatre over the summer holidays.

How does the Kids Week promotion work?

Somewhat confusingly, Kids Week last for the whole month of August.

You need to book the tickets at www.officiallondontheatre.com/kids-week/ where the tickets will automatically appear half price.

Not all shows are available for the discount during Kids Week and those participating may have limited allocations, so be quick as the popular shows will book up fast.

Don’t worry if you miss out as allocations are increased throughout August so it’s always worth checking back on availability regularly.

Is Kids Week just free tickets?

Ticket holders can get added perks during Kids Week – they might also be able to attend hands-on workshops covering everything from choreography to magic, as well as having access to VIP backstage tours and cast Q&A’s.

Look out for blue stars on a show’s booking page which indicates if there could be additional activities.

Those who have booked tickets to shows with eligible additional activities will also be notified by email.

Feed the kids for less too

Kids Week has teamed up with a number of London restaurants to offer discounts on food for kids too so you can really make the most of your day out.

The restaurants participating include:

  • Free kids main at Americana
  • Kids eat free at Bill’s
  • Kids eat free at Cento Alla Torre
  • Free kids' dessert at inamo
  • Free kids' dessert at The Curry Room
  • Free kids' dessert at The English Grill
  • Free kids' dessert at The New York Bar

To redeem the deals, simply show your Official London Theatre or TKTS ticket/confirmation email when you arrive.
