With ongoing pressure from rising household food bills, several major chains have reduced prices on vegetables and lamb joints to attract customers during the bank holiday weekend.

Here’s a breakdown of what’s currently available in supermarkets.

Aldi - standout veg prices and lamb deals

Aldi has cut prices on core roast dinner vegetables, with carrots, parsnips, swede and onions available for 4p each. Whole legs of lamb are priced from around £5.95 per kilo, providing strong value for those planning a family roast. Its “Super Six” promotional line covers a rotating selection of key produce at reduced prices.

Morrisons - matching veg offers with competitive meat pricing

Morrisons has also reduced prices on essential vegetables, with carrots, parsnips and potatoes available for around 4p each for loyalty card holders. Whole lamb legs are priced at approximately £5.97 per kilo. Additional half-price seasonal trims are also available online, giving families more options to plan an affordable Easter lunch.

Lidl - app deals and very low veg pricing

Lidl is offering carrots, swede and parsnips at 4p each, with 2kg potatoes for 8p. A 1.8kg leg of lamb is £10.71, around £5.95 per kilo. Customers using the Lidl Plus app can also access additional discounts, including £5 off a £50 shop and Easter coupons on Deluxe eggs and festive treats. Combined with its meal-for-eight offer at under £1.60 per person, Lidl provides one of the most affordable options for a full Easter dinner.

ASDA - bigger discounts on meat centrepieces

ASDA has focused its seasonal promotions on meat, with selected lamb centrepieces available at up to 50% off. Vegetables are slightly higher than at discounters, with items like carrots, potatoes and parsnips available at around 8p, but Rollback prices and online vouchers make the overall shop more affordable.

Tesco and Sainsbury’s - loyalty-driven price offers

Tesco and Sainsbury’s have reduced prices on core vegetables, with loyalty card users paying around 15p per item for carrots, potatoes, parsnips, broccoli and cabbage. Both supermarkets also run multi-buy and bundle offers on sides, desserts and drinks, which can help reduce the total cost of an Easter shop.

Where your money goes furthest

Aldi and Morrisons offer the lowest prices on both vegetables and lamb. Lidl is also good if you use the app deals. ASDA is best for meat discounts. While Tesco and Sainsbury’s give extra value with loyalty card savings and bundle deals.

Most of these offers run until Easter Sunday or Easter Monday, and stock may be limited. Check your local store or supermarket app for the latest prices.
